Seeking a Technical Support and Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Description Under the direction of the IT Director, provide support for employees and maintenance support for campus facilities.
Major duties include hardware and software configuration, training end users, handling helpdesk requests for 60
users, maintaining inventory and organization of office equipment, documentation of procedures.
On the maintenance side, upgrading lighting, HVAC filter replacement, minor building repairs and assisting with special projects.
What to Expect The work environment is a corporate office situated on 300 acres of beautiful farmland.
Each day will be different, and you will have a chance to work outside on facility projects.
Plus have an opportunity to drive a golf cart.
Responsibilities:
Dual role supporting our IT department and Facilities Maintenance.
The Help Desk Technician will be supporting our IT director with troubleshooting and assisting multiple users across different states and onsite technical support.
Main duties will include but not limited to:
Order, setup and deploy computers for new employees Create and configure Microsoft 365 accounts for new employees using 365 Admin portal Create and configure VoIP phone accounts for new employees using Spectrum online portal Train end users on Microsoft, Adobe and Remote Access applications Monitor and handle incoming requests for helpdesk support using email, text, and remote access software Organize office, store hardware into plastic bins, and label bins for ease of use Organize and store end-of-life or broken equipment for recycling Keep track of computer inventory and other assets using tracking software Provide feedback for developing processes and procedures for standardizing file storage, helpdesk support, and documentation Document all support requests including details of the problem and solution using office applications Install and terminate Ethernet cable for network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, computers, phones, wireless access points, security cameras Monitor network traffic and apply software upgrades to network equipment Provide feedback for developing intranet to increase communications with employees using employee surveys and observations The Facilities Maintenance role will provide the opportunity to work on projects under the supervision of the director.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Replace bulbs in light fixtures and/or upgrade light fixtures to LED Repair and/or replace ceiling HVAC vents and exhaust fans Replace ceiling tiles in drop ceilings Replace HVAC filters on a periodic schedule for multiple office buildings Assist with trenching, conduit/pipe installation, measuring, shooting elevations, equipment maintenance/repair Paint doors, walls, and trim Install weather stripping on exterior doors Keep track of power levels in battery powered devices and recharge/replace batteries as necessary Move, unbox, and assemble office furniture Basic
Qualifications:
HS diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on technical support of computer systems Technical knowledge of MS Office 365 and remote access support tools Technical experience configuring computers, printers, and network devices.
Working knowledge of VoIP systems Ability to troubleshoot issues with hardware and software, network traffic and identify threats.
Ability to handle confidential information and pass a background check.
Professional, strong communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Communicate solutions using simple non-technical descriptions.
Special Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
Ability to work on ladders and/or scissor lifts.
Handle working in various environments through the day from office to outside activities (high temperature and humidity levels common to FL) Ability to work in dusty environments (ie.
